One of the things we have learned through reentry work is that people do not leave jail and instantly go back to normal.
The body may walk out the gate, but the mind often takes time to adjust. Many people coming out of incarceration are learning how to make decisions again, trust again, build healthy routines, and believe they are actually free.
Reentry is about more than jobs, housing, transportation, and recovery. Those things matter, but successful reentry also includes healing, support, structure, accountability, and learning how to live in freedom again.
At Safe Haven, we are committed to walking alongside women as they rebuild their lives, grow in confidence, and take meaningful steps toward lasting change.
